GWM Water managing director addresses Green Lake criticism | The Wimmera Mail-Times

GWM Water has addressed community concerns after a number of residents spoke publicly about the state of Green Lake. The Wimmera Mail-Times published an article where one resident called the lake a “stinking puddle”. GWM Water Managing Director, Mark Williams said while Green Lake is no longer used for water supply purposes, it is not decommissioned. “Most years, including last year, the lake receives the ‘first flush’ from the Rocklands/Moora to Taylors Lake channel transfer which gives the lake a boost ahead of the warmer months,” Mr Williams said. “In recent years, GWM Water has offered Horsham Rural City Council access to additional water from its overall consumptive water…
